Lobbs Cafe by Technē Architecture + Interior Design
“Our design approach for Lobbs Cafe; to create an open, light-filled, welcoming space. A café that contributes positively to the culture of the neighbourhood & community feel.
High ceilings, timber flooring and a subtle pastel palette. A monolithic servery, with simple linear lighting above. Block colouring & corrugated polycarbonate sheeting. On the walls, a series of striking photographic portraits pays homage to a range of Brunswick identities. A variety of seating styles offer multiple configurations and varying energies for patrons, a private dining room on a raised platform at the rear of the venue offers a secluded space for groups to gather around a quiet communal table.
We created a dedicated outdoor dining space on the street front by building a new façade set back from the original property boundary. In this way, the seating is fully integrated with our overall tenancy design and it is optimised for utility and comfort.
Clean, simple white walls increase the sense of space and reflect abundant natural light.”
