2019 ArchiTeam Award Finalists Announced
140 projects from small, medium and emerging architects were entered into the 2019 ArchiTeam Awards, and that list has been shortened.. The finalists feature a diverse range of ideas, approaches and outcomes, whether that is a home inspired by agricultural corrugated sheds, or trying to inject as much light as possible into a dark terrace home, or transforming a shop-front into a home.
ArchiTeam plans on mixing up the awards night and exhibition from previous years. To do their part and show solidarity with the Architects Declare campaign, ArchiTeam is ditching the wasteful foam-core boards in favour of 1:1 scale projections of plans thanks to their collaboration with Big Plans Melbourne. The awards night will be impressive with each finalists projects projected around the warehouse space in North Melbourne, creating an immersive experience.
There are six categories for this year’s awards, with no surprise the Residential Alterations and Additions having an impressive 21 shortlisted projects. Other categories include Residential New, Commercial, Community, Unbuilt, Contribution, Brickworks Materiality Award and the Emerging Architect award. There is also the three ArchiTeam Medals up for grabs, the Small Project Medal, the Sustainability Medal and the coveted ArchiTeam Medal.

Amanda's beautiful home, Ruby Street, was originally designed by C.C. Sainsbury in 1957. Not wanting to move after falling in love with their exisiting home, but needing more space, Amanda engaged Jamie and Jo from Foomann Architects to design an extension.
